Services

Our areas of expertise include conducting noise and vibration assessments during the environmental (EIS/EIR) and preliminary engineering phases of rail transit projects, refined analyses during project final design, and value engineering. We have the knowledge required to design and evaluate complex mitigation elements for critically sensitive receivers in urban rail environments, as well as assist in the development of noise and vibration technical specifications for transit agencies.

Radial Acoustics offers services in the following areas:

  • Environmental impact assessments
  • Noise and vibration measurements of rail vehicles
  • Rail vehicle qualification tests, such as ride quality and wayside noise
  • Design and testing of floating slab track
  • Tunnel boring machine studies
  • Vibration propagation measurements
  • In-service testing of track components, such as fasteners, ballast mats and rail dampers
  • Construction noise and vibration
  • Underwater acoustic monitoring
  • Numerical modeling of vibration propagation in soils, vibro-acoustics and structural radiation of sound, and high attenuating materials
  • Technical specifications
  • Project oversight and QA/QC
